Is it really free?
Yes. There are no entry fees, no paid tiers, and no real-money prizes. We don't currently show any advertising. If we ever add it, it would be non-gambling ads to help cover running costs, and we'd update the Privacy and Cookie Policies first.
Why is a goalkeeper goal worth 50 points?
Because it almost never happens — and when it does, it should win you the week. The whole scoring system rewards rare events: defenders 5 a goal, midfielders 2, forwards just 1.
When do squads and lineups lock?
At each gameweek's deadline, which is the kickoff of that gameweek's first fixture. Your starting XI and your weekly transfer both lock then.
Can I change my whole squad?
Freely, and as often as you like, until the season's first gameweek kicks off. After that your squad is locked and changes happen through the one-transfer-per-gameweek rule — or by playing your once-a-season wildcard from the Pick Team page, which unlocks a full rebuild until the next gameweek's first match.
How does the captain/vice-captain armband work?
Your captain scores ×2 whenever they play that gameweek. Your vice-captain always scores ×1.5, independent of your captain — it's not a fallback, so if your captain blanks you don't get bumped up to ×2 elsewhere.
What are chips?
Four once-per-season power-ups played from the Pick Team page: Wildcard (full squad rebuild until the next kickoff — undoable with one click until you actually change your squad, then it's locked in), Triple Captain (your captain scores ×3 that week), Double Vice (your vice-captain scores ×2 instead of the usual ×1.5), and Bench Boost (your whole squad scores that week, bench included). One chip per gameweek; Triple Captain, Double Vice and Bench Boost can be changed until the deadline.
How do transfers work?
One per gameweek: swap a squad player for any player in the same position, as long as your squad still fits the £100M budget. Unused transfers don't roll over.
Why didn't my defender get clean-sheet points?
Two possibilities: their team conceded (even one goal cancels the bonus), or they didn't actually play in the match — clean sheets only count for real appearances.
Why didn't my player's points appear immediately?
Points are processed after matches finish, once results and scorers are confirmed. They usually appear within a day of the gameweek ending.
Will scoring be on time?
Yes — results import and points are processed automatically on a schedule once fixtures finish. Manual corrections are possible if source data was wrong, and corrections are final (see Terms).
How do private leagues work?
Create a league and you'll get a short join code. Share it with friends; anyone with the code can join. You can also browse and join public leagues, and everyone competes in the Overall League automatically.
Are public leagues safe to join?
League, team, and manager names must be suitable for all audiences — offensive names are blocked at creation and get renamed or removed if one slips through (see Acceptable Use). There's no messaging between players, and your email address is never shown to anyone. Spot a name we missed? Email support@fantasygoalsleague.com.
How do player prices change?
Prices drift with form after each gameweek: up when a player scores points (capped per week), slightly down when they blank, never below a floor.
How do I delete my account?
From your account settings page, or by writing to us via Contact & Support. Deleting your account removes your team, lineups and league memberships.
